Overview - Are you looking to get qualified as a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative? This is an amazing opportunity for someone to pick up some new skills and gain a recognised qualification.

During your time as an apprentice, we will also fund your FLT licence.

As an apprentice you will be working as a part of the Warehouse team to ensure the smooth process of orders, delivering good standards of customer service and ensuring high levels of stock integrity. We are looking for a keen team player that is ready to learn on the job. Great communication and a proactive approach to problem solving are essential. You must also be able to adhere to our Standard Operating Procedures for both the admin duties and warehouse duties that you will be responsible for.

This is an exciting new role for someone to join the Warehouse team at our Woodlands Site (BD4 6SE). For this role you will work an average of 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. These hours are to fall between 06:00am - 07:00pm so flexibility with start times is necessary.

Within the Warehouse team your purpose will be to supervise and control warehouse resources and equipment ensuring the smooth flow of the warehouse work streams considering safety of staff and quality to the customer whilst maintain resources costs in line with department budget. For this role you will also be providing Counter Balance assistance where required, therefore a valid Counterbalance FLT licence is required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- To manage stock integrity: the receipt, storage, retrieval and timely preparation and loading of goods for shipment

- Ensure effective deployment of all staff (both agency and permanent)

- Monitor and communicate absence levels for your area/shift

- Complete racking checks as requested on time and in full

- Ensure PI counts are conducted

- Manage daily/weekly running costs – Staff Costs / Consumables etc

- Completion of daily briefing /handover/standards document

- Confident in decision making

- Lead by example

What we are looking for?

- In date Counterbalance Licence

- 2+ Years in a supervisor level role within in a similar warehouse environment

- Understating of WMS software

- Professional demeanour with a keen eye for detail

- Experience in managing resources and evaluating performances

- First Aid and Fire Marshal qualifications are advantages[KS1]

- Pervious warehouse controller/Team leading experience is desirable but not essential

Main Duties

During your apprenticeship you will work with the Health, Safety and Facilities department to advise on the statutory health, safety and environmental requirements as they affect the company’s operations. You will be involved with emergency arrangements, occupational health, manual handling, control of hazardous substances, PPE, risk assessments as well as developing, reviewing and checking on the implementation of safe systems of work.

You will engage with all aspects of the organisation to support the embedment of a culture that ensures everyone is able to return to their family and friends unharmed every day whilst also protecting and enhancing the global land, air and water resources for future generations.
