Hundreds to Thousands Challenge
Expect Distribution was set a challenge by our chosen charity, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, to turn £200 into £2000 in two months.
Expect started the challenge on Friday 15th April 2016 by allocating a team of staff with a variety of skills to plan, organise and run the events. The staff members chosen had weekly meetings to discuss how to invest the money, what fundraising events they could get the company involved with and the running total.
Over the two month period, Expect took part in numerous fundraising events which included a Colour Run, Car Boot Sale, Stall at Halifax Charity Gala, IPad Raffle and much more.
On Wednesday 15th June 2016, we calculated the results of our efforts and the grand total raised was £3495.96! This is an amazing figure, exceeding everyone’s expectations. Expect is extremely proud of everyone for getting involved and raising such a huge amount for the Hospice.
Neil Rushworth, Managing Director, commented on Expect’s achievement “It was really interesting to see the staff being inventive in their ideas on the challenge and it is so pleasing to see us raise a great total for our chosen charity. Expect are delighted to support Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in whatever way we can and we have great fun in raising money for them over several years now.”
Sharon Ennis, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Corporate Fundraiser commented about the challenge “Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice would like to thank everyone at Expect Distribution who took on the Hundreds to Thousands Challenge of turning £200 into £2000 in two months. The team raised the outstanding amount of £3495.96, truly remarkable outcome and laying down a benchmark for all other organisations looking at taking on the challenge. It costs £3.8 million each year to run Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and with just 6% of this coming from government sources, the support of the local community and organisations like Expect Distribution is vital.”
