Expect Wins Business Excellence Award at MTA 2017

Expect have received national recognition when we took home the prize for Business Excellence Award earlier this month at the Motor Transport Awards.

The Motor Transport Awards, which is now in its 32nd year and is the most prestigious event in the road transport calendar, acclaims and rewards successful transport and logistics companies across the country.

The event, which took place on Wednesday 5th July 2017 at the Grosvenor House in London, was hosted by Gabby Logan and featured entertainment from comedian John Bishop.

The evening saw 1,500 of UK’s road transport industry leaders come together to award 20 iconic trophies to the worthy winners.

Following the release of the shortlist in May, we were proud to announce that we had been shortlisted for not one but three categories. These were Safety in Operations, Customer Care and Business Excellence.

We were up against some strong competition across the three categories including Palletforce, Malcolm Logistics, Panther Warehousing, Cemex UK and many more.

The Business Excellence Award winner must demonstrate all round outstanding performance in operational, strategic and financial elements whilst also displaying an emphasis on Health & Safety and CSR awareness so we were delighted to receive the accolade and were also pleased to see partners Palletline as winners of the Safety in Operation category.

Key members of the Expect team headed down to London to enjoy the celebratory evening including; Managing Director Neil Rushworth, Chairman Robert Rushworth, Director of Transport Andy Taylor, SHEQ/Facilities/Project Manager Kevin Barnes and Customer Relationship Manager Gemma Bentley.

Managing Director, Neil Rushworth commented; “We are delighted to have won the Business Excellence Award. It is truly indicative of the growth of the business. To have been shortlisted for not one, but three categories is credit to the hard work everyone at Expect puts into our service offering and business practices as we strive to be the best at everything we do. It really is an incredibly proud moment for all of us at Expect Distribution.”
