Expect turn up the Summer heat with a shiny new UKWA Award!

Things are definitely warming up for Expect Distribution as we brought home the UKWA (United Kingdom Warehousing Association) Best Infrastructure Project 2019 Award for our new 193,000 sq. ft. warehouse and our forecast is certainly bright.

Thursday 27th June saw the UKWA 75th Anniversary Lunch and Awards in the stunning location of The Dorchester Hotel, London with Guest of Honour, HRH The Princess Royal in attendance.

Expect Distribution attended the event as finalists and returned home winners. Proud recipients of the Best Infrastructure Project 2019 Award for our new site which opened in March of this year. The award recognised a new or improved logistics building or logistics park development and/or investment that brings additional capacity to the market.

The new Expect Distribution site is our largest yet with a 193,000 sq. ft. warehouse with space for 31,000 pallets, taking our total storage capacity to over 60,000 pallets. Occupying a 10 acre site and being less than one mile from our head office location adjacent to the M606, the site is perfectly located for quick access to the motorway network.

The multifunctional warehouse is now home to neighboring business Borg Warner who have signed a 10 year agreement with Expect which involves essential parts being stored which are called off to supply their production line. The site also houses long standing client Boost Drinks and new customer Gower Furniture.

The opening of the new site came hot on the heels of significant year on year growth for Expect Distribution and ahead of a year in which the company’s turnover in the warehousing division is expected to rise from £2.5m to nearly £5m.

Our Managing Director, Neil Rushworth, comments “2019 has so far been a very exciting year for Expect Distribution and looks set to continue to be so, with significant growth coming from a host of new contracts and growing business with our existing clients. The whole team has worked extremely hard to deliver our new site and receiving this award is excellent recognition for that hard work. UKWA is a fantastic organisation and one that we have been a member of for many years. Being presented with this award is certainly something we are very proud of.”
