cardfactory
Challenges
• The need for a progressive, solutions-driven logistics partner capable of supporting rapid and continuous business growth.
• Limited capacity and visibility within the existing direct-to-store delivery network, creating pressure on store operations.
• Increasing operational demands around sustainability, reverse logistics and maintaining high service levels during peak trading periods.
Benefit One
• Significant expansion of the direct-to-store delivery operation, growing from 250 stores to over 750, enabling scalable and cost-efficient growth. This has been achieved via the recently implemented outbase model.
Benefit Two
• Improved operational visibility and planning through enhanced tracking and delivery window systems, strengthening coordination with store teams.
Benefit Three
• Introduction of electric vehicles and streamlined reverse-logistics management, supporting their journey to net zero and improving end of season processing.
Objectives
• To build a scalable, efficient and cost-effective delivery network capable of supporting Card factory’s rapid store expansion.
• To enhance service quality and communication between distribution operations and retail store teams.
• To support sustainability goals by reducing environmental impact and improving fleet efficiency.
• To strengthen supply-chain performance during peak trading periods, ensuring reliability where it matters most.
Solutions
We delivered a scalable logistics solution that expanded Card factory’s direct to store network, introduced a dedicated branded fleet, and improved store visibility through enhanced tracking and delivery-window technology. Nationwide coverage was maintained via the Palletline network and we assumed full responsibility for end of season reverse logistics to increase speed and control. The addition of electric vehicles supported their sustainability goals, creating a reliable and efficient supply-chain operation that performs strongly year-round.
