Shipley based technologies company Pace plc are the latest new client of Expect Distribution to commit to a third party logistics operation at Premier Point, our newly opened warehouse facility.
Pace plc are a leading developer of digital TV technologies for the global payTV industry, a sector currently experiencing huge growth within the entertainment industry.
The contract which commenced on 1 September 09 means that Expect Distribution are responsible for the order process, despatch and safe delivery of the Philips set top boxes which Pace distribute as part of their UK retail operation.
Andrew Berry, UK Retail Manager for Pace commented on the new partnership between the two Bradford based companies
“Distribution of digital set top boxes in the UK was taken on by Pace plc in September 2009 following acquisition of the business from Philips last year. This was a key step for Pace in developing this important retail channel in advance of the digital switchover and we needed to be sure that we had a reliable, high quality and cost-effective logistics partner.
Expect won the tender for this business as it was able to demonstrate a modern, secure warehouse operation at its new facility, Premier Point, combined with flexible lead time deliveries and collections on the Expect branded fleet of vehicles. The project was able to go live on time and within budget, owing to the skill and commitment of all the team at Expect who worked to tight timelines”
Winning the Pace plc business also adds another major blue chip name to the portfolio of clients who are being very quickly acquired at the new 100,000 sq ft warehouse and Expect Distribution Operations Director Neil Rushworth also commented on the business.
“We are delighted that Pace plc chose Expect as their preferred partner for this project. The type of business which we are acquiring since the new warehouse was opened is testament to the quality of warehousing operation which we can now offer on the new site.
The facility was established as we believed that serious investment in our buildings and IT systems, coupled with our strong work ethics and a continuing belief in providing the ultimate in customer care could attract significant interest from blue-chip companies and this has certainly proved to be the case. We are now looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Pace.”
