Expect Distribution Ltd has won the UK transport industry’s most coveted accolade, scooping the ‘Haulier of the Year’ title at this year’s Motor Transport Awards ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London – the first ever Yorkshire company to win the top prize.
The 2007 Motor Transport Awards was the industry event of the year, attended by more than 1,400 people. This prestigious Awards ceremony celebrates the outstanding achievements of the industry and recognises innovation, outstanding service, efficiency and quality. The Awards are judged by an independent panel of experts from the industry, and are now widely recognised within the distribution industry as the highest accolades achievable.
Expect Distribution was one of just four finalists in the Haulier of the Year category, the event’s most sought after award, which is assessed on a range of criteria from quality of service to management excellence and sustained growth, linked to financial performance.
Managing Director Robert Rushworth commented on the company’s latest success. “We were runners-up in the same category in 2002, and we are confident that our win this year underlines our growing reputation for excellence. This is a national award which spans the entire UK transport industry, and we can now be confident that our name stands alongside other industry leaders and innovators. We are aware that we faced tough opposition from some of the best operators in the industry, and are justifiably proud of this significant achievement.”
Operations Director Neil Rushworth acknowledged the contribution of Expect’s entire workforce in securing the Award. “The whole team is committed to providing the highest levels of customer service and performance, and it is this level of sustained commitment that has placed us in a strong position for this year’s success,” he stated. “Winning the Haulier of the Year title is recognition for all their efforts.”
Expect Distribution is a member of the Palletline network and provides high quality distribution links for palletised consignments, ranging from single pallets through to full load delivery. The company now employs 124 people at its Listers Road site at Halifax, running a fleet of 52 vehicles carrying the distinctive Expect livery and managing modern, secure warehousing space totalling in excess of 102,000ft2.
