Halifax-based Expect Distribution Ltd has received national recognition for the quality and efficiency of its services, qualifying as a finalist for a prestigious award which aims to identify the cream of the UK's distribution industry for outstanding performance and achievement.
The Motor Transport Awards ceremony is an annual event, held this year on 4 July at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. It is attended by over 2000 of the transport industry's leading figures. Success at the Awards is now widely recognised within the distribution industry as one of the highest accolades achievable.
Expect Distribution is one of just four finalists in the Haulier of the Year category, the event's most sought after award, which is assessed on a range of criteria from quality of service to management excellence and sustained growth, linked to financial performance.
This latest achievement comes at the end of a financial year which has seen Expect undertake a total rebrand from its original identity as Pennine Parcels, and achieve a 13% increase in turnover.
Operations Director Neil Rushworth commented on the company's latest success. "We are delighted be finalists for the Motor Transport Awards. We were runners-up in the same category in 2002, so we are hoping to go one better this year!
"Expect Distribution had a remarkable year in 2006 and we feel that our performance - coupled with the new company identity which gives us a much stronger image - gives us a great chance of winning the award, despite facing opposition from some of the best operators in our industry.
"The management and employees of the company all work extremely hard to ensure that Expect Distribution continues to be successful and expand whilst supplying the best possible service to our clients. Success in the Motor Transport Awards is recognition for their efforts." The winner will be announced at the event in July.
Expect Distribution is a member of the Palletline network and provides high quality distribution links for palletised consignments, ranging from single pallets through to full load delivery. The company now employs 108 people at its Listers Road site at Halifax, running a fleet of 52 vehicles carrying the distinctive new Expect livery and managing modern, secure warehousing space totalling in excess of 102,000ft2.
