Driving our success

Andy is Expect Distribution’s Operations Director, which means he is responsible for our Contract operations, our Distribution and Transport division and our Warehouse operations, as well as managing IT.

Andy has been with the business since November 2015, prior to that he spent over a decade working in a wide variety of Logistics roles (you wouldn’t think he looks old enough would you?!).

In his spare time, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, as well as running and seeing live music.

Matthew became Managing Director of Expect in 2022 following successful completion of a Management Buyout in December 2021. Prior to this Matthew was Financial Director for a period of two years, during which he drove significant change to support the continued growth journey of the business. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant having spent a number of years in Accountancy Practice prior to joining the industry.

He is focused upon building a world class team that has what it takes to support the business to be the best in the industry. A firm believer that people are a business’s number one asset and high performing teams are the key differentiator between the good and the great.

Outside of work Matthew loves spending time with his fiancé and daughter, whilst somehow managing to find time to keep up his eye in on the squash court a couple of times a week. When time allows he also loves travelling abroad and exploring new places and cultures.

Bob has joined the Expect team to help strengthen and enhance the Board, having had several Sales and Commercial roles within the industry including an impressive mix of corporate and family-owned operated companies, he can help guide the growing Expect business while maintaining our strong culture of caring for our clients and colleagues.

He will be concentrating his attentions on developing the new sites with complimentary new clients as well as supporting the latest business acquisition, Pallet Plus with additional profitable growth.

When not working, Bob loves to spend time with his family, has frequent weekend trips up to his caravan on the beach in Northumberland and travelling abroad for fun.

Kevin re-joined Expect Distribution in March 2022, after a short spell away from the business. Kevin has spent over a decade at Expect Distribution, covering many different management roles during this time.

With a vast experience working in Senior H&S/Estates roles, Kevin has worked in a range of industries such as Logistics & Warehousing; Manufacturing and Education sectors and prior to that he spent 6 years in the Armed Forces

In his spare time Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, socialising with friends, traveling and for his sins, follow the ups and downs of Leeds United

Joe joined the team in September 2022 having previously worked in a range of industries from Kitchens, HR/Counselling services and Hotels.

Starting his career at an Accountancy practice in Manchester Joe moved over to Yorkshire 8 years ago and hasn’t looked back. Joe is a firm believer of developing team members and continues to mentor team members through their study.   

Outside of work Joe loves spending time with his wife and young son, as well as attempting running, golf and crossfit.

Jon joined Expect in August 2023, and brings a wealth of experience gained in both third party logistics and in-house operations embracing both the Manufacturing and Retail sectors. More specifically this includes developing through to Business Unit Director at Wincanton Logistics, Supply Chain Director at Spar and Operations Director at Nisa Retail Ltd, and these provided a combination of growth, contraction, transformation and continuous improvement.

Outside of work Jon is an enthusiastic (but not good!) tennis player and likes to unwind in good company and enjoying theatre, cinema and travelling to see the world and different cultures.

With an impressive 36-year career in logistics, Andy Hague joined Expect in November 2023.

Andy brings a wealth of experience to his role with his background including key roles with companies such as DHL, GXO, Wincanton, Asda, and Tesco, culminating in his most recent position as the national transport lead in the parcels sector with Evri. His seasoned expertise and leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping Expect Distribution's future.

Outside of work, Andy is a season ticket holder at Sheffield United and travels widely watching the England football team. His love for football extends to a hopeful anticipation of England winning the Euros this year. With two canine companions, he spends quality time walking and is also engaged in learning Spanish.

Having spent the last 8 years of her career in the Logistics industry, Amy joined the team in February 2024.

Prior to joining Expect Distribution, Amy has held numerous Senior HR roles for companies such as GXO Logistics, XPO Logistics and Walkers Transport - supporting sites of up to 2000 employees for large client brands such as M&S.

Having spent over a decade as a HR Generalist, in 2021 Amy was promoted into the role of Senior Manager, Talent and Learning for her former employer GXO Logistics – this post saw her responsible for Talent and Learning at a global level, supporting the development of their 130,000+ employees across 32 countries through leading multiple talent development programmes including Early Careers, Corporate Compliance and Continuing Professional Development initiatives, as well as overseeing transformational business projects and new system implementations.

Outside of work, Amy has a passion for health and wellbeing. As a keen gardener, she prefers quiet weekends with her family in their newly renovated home.

Pat joined the team in August 2021 having previously worked within the Pharmaceutical industry covering manufacturing , storage and distribution.

During this time he gained valuable experience in all aspects of supply chain, logistics and operations over a 25 year period for the same company. 

Pat has recently gained certification following successfully completing gold standard cogent RP training which will add value to the role Pat occupies.

Outside of work Pat likes spending time with friends and family socializing and is a keen Huddersfield Town fan but loves all sports .

Craig is our longest serving Manager having been with the company since the year 2000.

Originally starting as a Traffic Office Clerk he quickly progressed to become Manager of our newly formed Palletline Department.

Craig then spent many years learning the Palletline Charter whilst maintaining regular customer & Palletline depot contact.

Now our Administration Manager, reporting directly to our Managing Director, Craig undertakes a wide range of duties but in the main he manages the customer accounts and tariffs on our company software & is significantly involved in our annual customer review process. 

Craig is involved with the creation and issue of both customer & staff communications, assists with making ongoing improvements to our systems and procedures. He also provides both customer & staff support where required.

Having recently become a very proud Grandad, Craig enjoys spending as much time as possible with his Grandson Archie & the family.

Paul is the Health, Safety and Training Manager for Expect. Paul joined the business in October 2010 as a Warehouse Operative and has held various positions within the company.

The safety of our workforce and valued customer is crucial to which Paul oversees all aspects of.

Paul spends his weekends with friends, family and enjoys walks with his crazy miniature daschund, Penelope.

Cheryl has worked for Expect for since July 2018, starting on a temporary basis in the finance department, moving on to a permanent role within the Health and Safety team as a Facilities Officer. In 2019 Cheryl became the Compliance Manager, then in 2020 the Responsible Person & WQP for human and veterinary medicine ensuring Goods Distribution Practice is followed at all time.

Paul started his career in Transport at Hudson Shepherd Transport in 1987 as a POD clerk, going on to work for Taylor Barnard, Leeds and Pennine Parcels and then over to us at Expect. Paul had previously been an employee with Expect, leaving in 2012 and working at Walkers Transport in Rochdale as a Depot Manager and ADD Express in Rochdale as Northern Hub Manager only to return nearly 10 years later. Paul has been in transport 35 years.

Paul is an avid supporter of Manchester United, watching them as much as he can and he enjoys playing both 5 and 6 a side football.  Paul tells us he's still as competitive as he was when he was 18 because he loves it so much!!

Kirsty is the Service Excellence Manager for the Transport division.  With an extensive operations knowledge in warehousing and distribution, Kirsty sees her role as ‘the voice of the customer’. 

Kirsty possesses a strong sense of urgency with regard to customer satisfaction and enjoys building relationships and improving service and communication.

She is a crazy cat lady who is proud of all her cat show rosettes.  When she isn’t grooming her cats she loves to spend time with family and friends; eating, drinking, dancing and laughing.

Her dinner party guests would be Margaret Thatcher, John Lennon, David Attenborough, Audrey Hepburn and Donald Trump.

Chris has worked for Expect Distribution since the tender age of 16. Leaving school and committing over 17 years of hard labour. Chris is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and all round nice colleague, constantly putting smiles on people’s faces.

Chris has always aspired to become a department manager and through hard work and commitment he has achieved his goal at our Premier Point warehouse facility with 9500 pallet locations in a 100,000sqft warehouse to then progressing onto the largest of the Expect warehouses; situated at Grattan, hosting in excess of 30,000 pallet rack spaces.

Further opportunity brings Chris into a newly appointed role within the business playing a key part in supporting all sites and operations.

Outside of work Chris enjoys socialising with friends and spending time with his family. Chris has recently taken up mountain biking and is contemplating returning to the gym.

Carl joined Expect in 2016 as Warehouse Distribution Manager, responsible for managing the morning operation as well as managing the weekend distribution team. 

When asked what he enjoys most about his role he said that it is the great team that he works with.

Previous to joining Expect Carl spent 15 years working for another distribution company based in Elland, in his home town of Halifax. 

In his spare time Carl enjoys spending time with his children, socialising and travelling the world, so far he has travelled to 37 different countries.

Mick joined the company in 2017 after previously working for Walkers Transport for over 10 years. He enjoys working for Expect as "no two days are ever the same"

Mick is father to 2 beautiful boys and loves to keep fit going to the gym as well as spending as much quality time with his family as is possible. Mick is a big Leeds Rhinos and Leeds United fan.

Nick has worked for Expect since the tender age of 19, joining the business in September 2008.

Having held multiple roles from Paperwork/label clerk , Traffic Admin in the bull pen, Warehouse Admin on the Boost contract, Halifax Warehouse Controller Nick is now our Woodlands Warehouse Manager.

Outside of work Nick is a Huddersfield Town season ticket holder, a music fanatic, an average guitar player and coffee obsessive who enjoys camping holidays near and far with his wife and three young children.

Originally from Felixstowe, Suffolk, Tom joined Expect in 2018.

With a Degree in Transport and Logistics Management from the University of Huddersfield, Tom started running the Boost Contract, moving to the Card Factory contract in 2019 and then took over General in 2021 throughout Covid.

 A supporter Ipswich Town FC, Tom enjoys Moto GP, F1, Golf and Muay Thai

An experienced senior manager with 30 years’ service within Supply chain Logistics, Warehousing and Production; Phil joined Expect in January 2022.

Phil's strengths are being a pro-active leader; developing business strategies and policies; budget and change management to enhance business performance and profitability and team empowerment.

When Phil isn't working in our Contracts team you can find him finding time with his Son, following Leeds United's escapades and scuba diving!

Carrie-Ann is our HR Manager and joined in May 2022. Carrie-Ann has worked in HR for almost 20 years in a variety of different roles including Learning & Development and Advisory. She spends most of her day making sure her team are empowered to do everything they can to deliver for our colleagues and keep everyone happy. Carrie-Ann is passionate about our culture and wants to make sure we keep hold of it as we grow.

Outside of work Carrie-Ann is a huge music fan, loves playing board games and is partial to a glass of wine (or three!) with her loved ones.

Lisa joined Expect in September 2022.

A stickler for lists and organisation and with a Managerial background in both corporate and private sectors; Lisa has worked in Distribution, Property & Construction, Hospitality and Healthcare businesses.

Married with 3 children, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, local country walks (lots of country pubs nearby!), baking and movie nights. Having lived in Italy for a year in her teenage years she loves all things Italian and learnt to speak the language fluently but with a Northern Bergamasco accent, the Italian Yorkshire!

James joined the team in July 2023, having previously worked in a range of industries including FMCG, Ecommerce, Healthcare, Food, Temperature Control and Alcohol.

James moved from Scotland to Yorkshire in 2014, to complete a degree in Supply Chain Management with Logistics at Huddersfield University, and decided to stay due to the wealth of opportunities in England. Within the workplace, he is passionate about safety, people and teamwork, continuous improvement, operational excellence, data-led decision making and supporting the customer experience.

Out of work, James enjoys spending his time with his Fiancé, step daughter and, being dragged around by, their beagle Moochy. He enjoys burning off the many sugary calories he consumes by dragging himself up mountains and lifting weights. He also enjoys rugby union, ice hockey, fly fishing (we all need quiet time) and guitar.

Martin joined Expect Distribution in October 2023 with over 30 years’ experience in Logistics and Distribution operations dealing with Blue Chip retailers Sainsburys, Tesco and recently Asda.

Martin’s role is the new Site Manager at Expects FGH site and he will continue to drive the process of improving operational performance, customer satisfaction, excellent housekeeping and safety standards within the site.   

In his spare time Martin likes to spend time going on country walks with his family and dog, a Golden Retriever called Alfie. He is also a Bradford City season ticket holder although this tends to be for the social aspect rather than the football at the minute. He also tries his best to play golf and lose golf balls and is very good at it.

Having previously worked for DHL, I started off in a Transport Supervisor position, eventually working my way up to Transport Manager. I then moved to James Wilby Logistics as Logistics Manager in Pallet Distribution before joining Expect in March 2024.

My spare time is spent with my two boys as well as playing cricket, which I’ve done for the last 20 years, the occasional game of football and boxing.
